My dog chewed the base. Can this be fixed without removing the column? Installation say to "place the L-shaped pieces." Does this mean the base can be fitted around the column without removing the column? Are there instructions for removing the old base?

Thank you for reaching out. Now, for the L shaped pieces is the cleats (the thin pieces) or the base (still L shaped but taller)? We have two types of wraps (ProSelect and PremiumSelect) and if we are talking about the cleats they are installed differently. The Pro version are made for the cleats to fit on the inside of the wraps where the Premium version is meant to be installed around the shaft so they stick out beyond the cap/base. Do you by chance have the part number for your original order? So we can see if there is anything that can be done.

Thank you for your interest in the Fypon PVC Square Column Wrap Cap and Base. These caps are true to size, with the outside dimensions matching 6x6 and 8x8 and the inside dimensions where the post fits being slightly smaller. These post caps are not adjustable.

Based off of the information given, these post caps will likely not fit around 6 1/2" posts.

Good morning and thank you for emailing us. The proselect line 8 x8 post has an actual inside width of 4-7/8in. The proselect 10 x 10 actually inside with 6-7/8. The premium select 8 x 8 is/ actually 4-3/4 inside. the premium slecrt 10 x 10 is 6-3/4in.
