This is done to secure the rail in the slotted vinyl post or the picket in the slotted vinyl rail. As well there is a leverage handle action with a 0.375 inch throat depth, which makes 0.25 inch snap-lock tab in vinyl materials up to 0.075 thickness. The 1/2 inch Vinyl Fence Notcher makes a 0.5 inch snap-lock tab in vinyl fence reinforced ranch rails for 0.875 inch from the end for securing the rail in the slotted vinyl post. This size also has the compound leverage handle with a 0.875 inch throat depth, and makes 0.5 inch snap-lock tab in vinyl material up to 0.090 thickness. The Economy Vinyl Fence Notcher has cast steel handles and 1.25 inch throat depth, and makes a 0.75 inch snap-lock tab in vinyl material up to 0.135 inch thickness.
