The Rikon 1-inch x 30-inch Belt Variable Speed Sander is a power machine that is great for smaller craft projects such as toys, jewelry, and home decorations. It removes rough edges quickly and efficiently due to its very efficient small motor. The variable speed option on this Rikon sander allows for a "dialed-in" approach for the most accurate belt and disc speed. The 1 inch wide belts work on smaller materials but have a rear support platen that can be removed to allow flexing of the belts for working curved and deep areas on projects. This belt sander can also be used for metal, but it is recommended to remove the side guard in order to allow any sparks to escape so it does not melt the plastic wheels for the sanding belt.
